Five holidays to plan ahead for 2021 and 2022
February 26, 2021
We love nothing more than sitting down and planning out our next trip, or the next trips for our clients. After all, holidays are a treat, and a wonderful thing to put in your diary and look forward to for weeks or months to come. Some of the best holidays are those which are a whimsical last minute decision. Such as a weekend away to one of our luxurious Cotswold properties like The Fish, however sometimes getting ahead can pay dividends.
Holidays in 2021 and into 2022 are going to be in-demand. After all, we have all missed out on a few trips due to the Covid-19 pandemic. And so, with a huge amount of pent up demand, the likes of which we haven’t seen for some years, we don’t want our guests to miss out! With this blog we are going to take a closer look at five holidays to plan ahead for 2021 and 2022. This is where being organised will not only give you something to very much look forward to, but also where being organised is going to pay off.
1. Your winter 2021-22 ski holiday:
At the risk of sounding dramatic, the shape of skiing has been changed forever as a result of the past couple of years. The double edged sword of Brexit and Covid-19 has meant that tragically we have lost some of the best British chalet operators from the market. Meanwhile those that are still providing our luxurious chalet breaks have typically shrunken their portfolios. This means that there are far less chalets to go around.
Being organised whether you are a family of four looking for half-term, or a group of 30 looking for a corporate weekend ski trip, will be necessary for winter 2021-22. Each year by the time we reach September, it proves increasingly difficult to meet the varied requirements of groups when matched to the availability. This will only be exacerbated now, so if we can emphasise one thing for your ski trip next winter – please book early! We don’t want you to be disappointed or miss out.
This also goes for those who prefer to stay in hotels: if keen chalet aficionados can’t find a chalet that meets their requirements, it is likely that they will opt for a hotel rather than not ski! For those that do want a hotel, we have everything from the beautiful spa hotel of Badrutt’s Palace in the Swiss resort of St. Moritz, to all-inclusive packages protected by ATOL at Club Med Val Thorens Sensations in Val Thorens, and everything in between. Why not start browsing through our ski portfolio here now and get in touch for some tailor-made ideas.
2. A safari in Southern Africa:
Whether Botswana, Namibia, South Africa or Zambia, if you are hoping for your next holiday to be a safari adventure to remember, then it is time to start bringing together these ideas and letting us do the hard work to create a tailor-made itinerary.
It has been some time now since UK guests managed to marvel at the incredible wildlife found in the Okavango Delta, discovered the desert dunes of Namibia, or hiked to the top of Table Mountain in South Africa.
If you are keen to discover the great outdoors, the spacious savannahs and see something new, then we would recommend planning ahead for 2021 or 2022. The finest luxury lodges as well as those that are the best value get booked up far in advance, and these holidays also take a little time to tweak to perfection. Start with a little inspiration from our itinerary ideas here.
3. The holiday of a lifetime:
Why not take this opportunity to plan a bucket-list trip of a lifetime? After missed summer holidays, missed ski holidays or missed staycation holidays, why not pool together all of your holiday funds and turn things into a positive with the holiday of a lifetime?
We are experts at creating tailor-made holidays that are unforgettable. This could be anything from a multi-centre trip to the Caribbean starting with the enchanting island of St. Lucia and finishing by visiting Antigua and some of its 365 beaches. Or if you are feeling adventurous, enjoy a week on safari in South Africa followed by a week on the sandy golden beach of the LUX* Grand Gaube in Mauritius.
Let us tweak, perfect and hone in on your holiday of a lifetime where you get to visit and see everything you’ve dreamed of and create memories to last forever. From the Greek islands to the gorillas of Rwanda, we will turn your dreams into a reality.
4. An island hopping stay in the Seychelles:
The Seychelles is a tropical paradise unlike any other. This stunning collection of islands set within the Indian Ocean, made up of vivid green mountains and silky white sandy beaches, has an array of luxurious hotels. One of our favourite itineraries for a holiday to remember is to spend roughly 10 to 14 nights exploring the Seychelles and staying in two or three different resorts.
International flights arrived in Mahé, the Seychelles’s capital and largest island. It’s a good idea to spend a day or two here after the flight, settling into the island life and appreciating the natural beauty. Then why not hop across to a different Seychelles island for a more intimate or different ambience? La Digue and Praslin island are the two main alternatives to Mahé. Each island has its own charm and each hotel and resort varies in what it offers. The common theme you will find is plenty of natural beauty, long pristine sandy beaches and some incredible flora and fauna. The Seychelles is home to giant tortoises, the Coco de Mer and the Seychelles Black Parrot.
There are also a number of private island escapes such as North Island, Denis Private Island and Club Med Seychelles Eco-Resort. The Seychelles is an amazing destination, adding in a little island hopping really creates an added sense of adventure during a stay here. By planning ahead we can create the itinerary of your choice and ensure that there will be availability at the hotels which you wish to visit. It also gives you time to look forward to an incredible trip!
5. A twin-centre Tanzanian trip to watch The Great Migration
The Great Migration is the largest annual mammal migration. A once in a lifetime experience, in order to marvel at this natural phenomenon travellers need to book in advance. To see the Great Migration across the Serengeti plains of Tanzania is spectacular. There is just a small window in August and September in which to see the great herds of zebra, wildebeest and gazelles thundering across the savannah and crossing the Mara River, it is vital to book ahead.
The migration is a spectacle that is unmatched anywhere else and one to pencil in for 2022. The best lodges and spots from which to discover the migration do get booked up well in advance, and once more there will be plenty of keen travellers waiting to book this.
Once you have been on safari and seen some of the incredible wildlife of Tanzania, we would recommend discovering some of the incredible culture and the beaches of the island of Zanzibar afterwards. It is the ideal twin-centre trip and will show off some of the best of this East African nation.
