Our favourite beach bars for a Friday cocktail
June 8, 2021
We are lucky enough to work with some incredible hotels, safari lodges and chalets across the globe, but for a Friday cocktail, there is no better place to be than at the beach bar or by the pool. We love a good cocktail and relaxing with friends whilst away on holiday, so we wanted to share our favourite beach bars for a Friday cocktail with you. Perhaps it will help transport you away to a tropical destination, provide inspiration for your next holiday, or inspire a honeymoon trip of a lifetime.
Nostos Pool Bar, Myconian Imperial, Mykonos, Greece
Found alongside the popular Elia Beach in Mykonos, we love the ‘feet in the water’ cocktail bar at the Myconian Imperial with incredible views of the Aegean Sea. Sweeping views of the coastline of Mykonos provide a sensational spot for a cocktail with a relaxed ambience and beautiful sunsets that will stay in your memory for a long time. Guests return year on year to one of the coolest spots on this magical Greek island.
Beach Bar Antibes, Hotel Cap d’Antibes, France
On the stunning coastline of the Côte d’Azur is the luxurious 5* Hotel Cap d’Antibes. The beach bar is rustic and relaxed with chic styling and positioned next to the golden sands of Antibes. The bar was formerly widely renowned as a celeb hangout in the 80s and 90s and called the ‘Maisons des Pêcheurs’. Nowadays it is the place for a decent pre-dinner cocktail before dinner in Antibes Town.
Rockstar Villa, Finolhu Maldives, Maldives
Forgo the chit chat with others and enjoy privacy and seclusion at the Rockstar Villa at Finolhu Maldives. This extravagant ocean pool villa has its very own wine bar meaning that you can pour your own drinks and choose your own company for your very own private sundowners overlooking the Indian Ocean.
Morukuru Beach Lodge, The Garden Route, South Africa
Located in one of South Africa’s most beautiful locations, the Morukuru Beach Lodge is South Africa’s Leading Beach Hotel (2020, World Travel Awards). A sensational boutique all-inclusive property, guests can choose to enjoy drinks on the sand dunes or watch the sea break onto the shore from the rooftop terrace.
Windsong Beach Restaurant, Kempinski Seychelles Resort, Seychelles
With a very chilled out atmosphere, the Windsong Beach Restaurant is where you can sit back, relax and enjoy the gentle sound of the ocean greeting the fine soft white sand of Baie Lazare beach. Share a bottle of wine with your partner, choose a cocktail to enjoy and experience refined luxury with the sand between your toes.
The Beach Bar at Sandy Lane, Barbados
Facing the Caribbean Sea, The Beach Bar at Sandy Lane is one of our favourite spots in the Caribbean to watch the sun set. Full of stripped back charm, this bar is light and airy with palm trees outside and pebbles and driftwood-esque fixtures inside. It provides barefoot luxury alongside thirst-quenching cocktails.
The Beach Lounge, Silversands, Grenada
Another incredible Caribbean resort which reaches the upper echelons of luxury is the Silversands Grenada. An impressive resort located by Grand Anse beach, the Beach Lounge is found between the dazzling white sand of the beach and the Caribbean’s longest infinity pool (100 metres). With an extensive wine list, comfortable shaded seating, delicious freshly caught fish dishes and local produce to accompany your drinks, it’s an elegant spot to spend a few hours.
Beach Rouge, LUX* Grand Gaube, Mauritius
At the LUX* Grand Gaube, in the popular Grand Gaube area of Mauritius there are seven bars to choose from. Our pick is the Beach Rouge. Across the resort you can expect local island rums to feature in cocktails, as well as established favourites such as sours and martinis. With seating and sun loungers directly on the beach, this is the epitome of beach bar bliss. Mixologists conjure up cocktails whilst a DJ plays into the early hours.
Sharkie’s Bar, Club Med Turquoise, Turks and Caicos
At the adult-only Club Med Turquoise, Sharkie’s Bar embraces the picture of island life. Between the shoreline of this Bahamian paradise and the gently swaying palm trees, is Sharkie’s Bar. As the resort is all-inclusive, guests can enjoy a cocktail or two without reaching for their wallets. There is a vibrant and spacious terrace from which guests can watch the sun set or see others take part in the complimentary watersports.
The Whale Bar, St. Regis Maldives Vommuli Resort, Maldives
This overwater bar provides the best of the Maldives as it jets into the ocean from the sandy beach. With covered and uncovered seating you can opt for sun or shade before watching the sun set over the coral reef. We would highly recommend trying an Island Mary whilst staying in the resort. This is like a Bloody Mary but uses kala namak salt to give a distinctive South Asian twist.
If you are ready to head to a beach bar and to start planning your next holiday, do get in touch and we will be happy to make a range of recommendations for this.
