Half-term skiing ensures fantastic snow and the sun starts to shine, it is warmer for the children and it is the perfect time to visit the Alps. Booking when you return from your last year’s holiday ensures that you will have the top pick of the best resorts and properties. 

1. Choice

Firstly you have the widest variety of chalets and resorts to choose from, there is no scrambling for the last beds, or fighting for somewhere where you would rather not stay. Not only can you choose from an excellent selection of chalets and hotels you can also hold the chalet or hotel rooms of your choice for 48 hours (depending on the owner) whilst you finalise the details with the rest of your family or group so there is less pressure and you can make a considered decision. 

2. Owners and operators love early bookings

Operators, hotels and chalet owners are motivated to make early bookings and will help with other needs such as helping with extras, pre-booking lessons or ski hire in order to make your trip seamless. Unless you are willing to book just a few weeks before you travel and run the risk of not managing to secure your half-term holiday, then the best prices tend to be available by booking early. Half-term is very popular, especially with families, in fact it is the most popular week of the ski season. Booking early ensures that you will have the accommodation that you wish for but also that you will be able to book the ski school of your choice, and they will have space. If you are looking for any childcare, snow clubs or private nannies we will also be able to book all of this. Every year guests book their accommodation and find there is no ski school availability, or the flight they wanted is unavailable or highly priced. Late booking can mean that guests have to compromise on their preferred resort and therefore don’t manage to get the right resort suited to their ski ability or one with a longer transfer time.

Booking early gives you time to plan your holiday, to invite friends or family and secure that private use chalet. It also gives you time to get excited and look forward to what for many is a once in a year opportunity. There’s also plenty of preparatory time to get ski clothes and equipment in advance and also to make sure your ski legs are warmed up ready for those fresh pistes.

If you aren’t booking a holiday with flights, although we can add these for you, it means that you can book them when they are first released. Not only may you get a more reasonable price you will also be able to choose the closest regional airport to you. For most ski resorts there are a number of airports which you can fly into, picking the right one will make the journey easier for you and your family, turning what could be a four hour transfer to an hour and a half, it does wonders with little ones and starts the holiday on the perfect footing. 

Larger groups have less choice and options especially if you are looking for a chalet for sole use. Booking early means that you can choose from all the options on the market and not be left with one you might not have chosen.
