A beautiful and picturesque ski resort found in the southern French Alps. This family friendly ski resort is perfect for beginner skiers and children, with easy blue and green home runs to end the day. The resort is south facing and a fantastic sun trap during the winter months and many of the chalets and hotels are south facing and have balconies to catch the afternoon rays.
Set at 1850 meters above sea level it is a snow sure resort with the ski area reaching heights of up to 2,800 meters. The ski area offers 155 km of pistes, with a range of slopes with generally good conditions throughout the winter ski season. For the more adventurous skier, you can ski over the top of the mountain into La Thuile, Italy and enjoy a pizza or delicious bowl of pasta for lunch before heading back to the main resort. Part of the Espace San Bernard ski area, the Italian side offers a hidden gem of off piste skiing when the conditions are right and there is plenty to explore for a range of ski abilities.
A pretty resort, La Rosiere’s main village itself is filled with traditional Alpine chocolate box chalets. One of our smaller ski resorts the town is quiet yet it still has excellent restaurants and hot chocolate stops. As well as mountain restaurants such as La Plan offering traditional Alpine delicacies and the perfect lunch stops. There is plenty to do for non skiers and skiers alike such as paragliding, nordic walking and snowshoeing, there is an ice rind and spa with treatments available.
