Zermatt is one of the best known and loved resorts in the Alps, exclusive, charming and magical. It’s an alpine town found at 1,608 metres tucked away in the Valais region of Switzerland, three hours from Geneva, it delights and leaves its mark on visitors every day of the year. With skiing 365 days a year, it is home to the highest skiing in the Alps and a completely snow-sure resort which is teeming with life.
Zermatt is part of the Matterhorn Glacier Paradise ski area which is comprised of 360 kilometres of incredible meticulously groomed pistes spanning from Cervinia on the Italian side to Zermatt on the Swiss side, rising to heights of 3,899 metres altitude. The Zermatt area of the ski domain is split into three distinct areas. The Sunnegga side, accessed by funicular situated on the far left, Gornergrat perfectly suited to intermediates accessed by train and the more technically demanding Klein Matterhorn found on the right hand side. There are a range of ski schools to meet all your needs with Summit Ski School and Stoked being well renowned.
For non-skiers Zermatt is one of the best resorts in the Alps, with the aforementioned Gornergrat railway giving the opportunity to explore the high mountain on foot and enjoy beautiful Matterhorn views. The resort is full of boutique shops and a range of activities are on offer, including; ice skating, curling and winter hiking as well as being home to the Matterhorn museum and climbers cemetery.

Zermatt is not without its livelier side, with après ski found in the form of ski boot thumping Europop at (the Hennu Stall bar) Hennu Stall just before the bottom of the home run back into Zermatt. Papperla Pub offers live music and a fun atmosphere and Gees and Cuckoo more live music and cocktails. At night Zermatt has plenty on offer with the Hotel Post home to a range of bars and clubs and the likes of Schneewittli entertaining into the early hours.
