Nassau in The Bahamas
January 1, 2019
The Commonwealth of the Bahamas is home to hundreds of islands set amongst almost bath-warm waters with uninhabited islands to explore and white sand beaches. Nassau is perhaps the best known of the Bahamian islands, below we’ve included a quick guide with some of our favourites included to help with planning your trip and to inspire. If you want any further information, to talk through any aspects found in our blog or to start discussing your trip to the Bahamas, just get in touch with one of our specialists.
Nassau City is a Bahamian metropolis with vibrant nightlife, a bustling port and chic shops. When staying in Nassau or Providence Island (as it is formally known), there is plenty to enjoy, whether that’s a touch of retail therapy, enjoying a frozen daiquiri at the bar, or relaxing with a poolside sundowner.
Whilst the white sand beaches of Nassau offer immediate appeal, it is also worth getting wet, try snorkelling or scuba diving to see the superb marine life, no trip would be complete without it.
Nassau has plenty on offer to those looking to try something new whilst away, this includes learning the art of cigar-rolling! The Graycliff Cigar Co is where one can witness the skill of the 16 master rollers at work and learn how to roll cigars and you can also pair this with a rum tasting. Just one of the many highlights of the Bahamas.
If you are looking for a culinary treat then you would be well advised to stop off at Café Matisse during your stay in Nassau. Widely regarded as one of, if not the best restaurants on the island, Café Matisse is fantastically located with a relaxing ambience with a beautiful garden setting in which to dine. Superb service and wonderful Italian dishes and fresh seafood await.
A drink with a difference, for those who enjoy a daiquiri make sure that you visit Daiquiri Shack set back from Cable Beach. With a great atmosphere and some of the best daiquiris anywhere in the Bahamas many are only disappointed that they didn’t find Daiquiri Shack sooner when visiting Nassau!
