Morukuru Beach Lodge, South Africa
5* hotel
A much coveted eco lodge, the Morukuru Beach Lodge is a three hour drive away from Cape Town. It is located on the beautiful coastline of South Africa along The Garden Route. This is a stunning boutique hotel which combines modern furnishings with a mesmerising natural setting. The Morukuru Beach Lodge is found within the De Hoop Nature Reserve where rolling sand dunes and coastal rock pools lead to the Atlantic Ocean. Here guests might be fortunate enough to spot whales at certain times of year.
Launched in July 2018 the Morukuru Beach Lodge has a wonderfully intimate feel. There are just five suites sleeping up to 12 guests and ensuring a highly personalised level of service. Each suite spans across 90 square metres, with underfloor heating, a fireplace, furnished balcony or deck and beautiful views. The honeymoon suite is special with views of the fynbos dunes and a large private deck with sun loungers.
This is the perfect stopping off point between Cape Town and the Plettenberg along The Garden Route. However with such incredible natural surroundings a stay here is more than worthy in its own right. The beachfront setting is ideal for relaxed beach walks and children to play by the sea. There are a wide number of activities available and equipment on offer for all ages including snorkelling kit, mountain bikes, beach umbrellas and beach towels. This is alongside a host of activities such as guided marine walks, guided fynbos walks and hikes, guided mountain biking, guided 4×4 fynbos nature drives, land based whale watching (seasonal), sundowners on the sand dunes and beach games.
The food is another highlight when staying at the Morukuru Beach Lodge. There is a large emphasis on locally sourced ingredients and wine. The lodge is bookable on a full board basis and for those looking to head out and explore during the day picnics can be organised. This is an ideal choice for anyone, from honeymoon couples to families and even groups of up to 14 looking for a sole occupancy stay, the Morukuru Beach Lodge is indulgent and luxurious.
