Located within the Pumba Private Game Reserve on the Eastern Cape is the Pumba Water Lodge, a spectacular lodge in a beautiful setting. The lodge looks across Lake Cariega and provides a privileged spot from which to watch hippopotamuses wallow. The Pumba Private Game Reserve is the ideal safari destination for those in search of a quieter alternative to some of South Africa’s more well known reserves, yet it still offers a high quality of game viewing.
Guests who stay at the Pumba Water Lodge can enjoy the views of the floodplains with a mountainous backdrop and have the opportunity to spot the Big Five with twice daily game drives included. The area is also home to some more rare animals including wild dogs, cheetahs and leopards. The Pumba Water Lodge is a luxurious and relaxing property that has a choice of 12 chalets, each with their own private game viewing decks and plunge pool.
The main lodge is a wonderful place to spend time relaxing between game drives or walks. The guest lounge is spacious and there is a sundeck which is ideal for soaking up the afternoon sun. Alternatively guests can enjoy some privacy and relax on their viewing deck and private plunge pool. There are a number of choices for dining including in the main dining room, on decking areas or a romantic candlelit dinners on request.
The Soul Spa located at the sister property, the Msenge Bush Lodge is the ideal way to unwind after a morning of wildlife spotting. This is where expert therapists can pamper guests with a range of massages and beauty therapies. There is also a plunge pool, sauna and fitness suite with 180 degree bush views, these facilities are shared with the sister lodge and available for guests of the Pumba Water Lodge to use.
